Winmail Reader Review
Open, convert and save the files on winmail.dat email attachments sent by Microsoft Outlook and Exchange. Easy-to-use. Graphic interface (no command-line tool). And FREE!
Winmail.dat files are in fact TNEF attachments (transport neutral encapsulation format) sent by the Microst Outlook, Outlook Express or Microsoft Exchange applications. Users from other e-mail clients (like Thunderbird or Lotus Notes) cannot read them, neither their attachment, as the attachment and winmail.dat file may be combined into a single winmail.dat.
It is free, user-friendly and it visualizes most of the embedded files without having to open a separate application. Most of the existing application are difficult to use and requires more knowledge than a common user has.
Any user that receive an winmail.dat attachment. Usually these are users using another e-mail client than Outlook, like Thunderbird or Lotus Notes.
